New Items This Week
Crenshaw Melon: smooth yellow-green skin with pale green or salmon flesh weighing about 6 pounds. A hybrid cross between the casaba and cantaloupe. Flesh is extra sweet and juicy with a sweet spicy aroma. Softer than other melons.
Spaghetti Squash: the spaghetti squash is also called vegetable squash. This watermelon-shaped squash has a skin colored creamy-yellow. The spaghetti squash gets its name from its yellow-gold flesh which separates into spaghetti-like strands when cooked. This squash will average from 4 to 8 pounds. It will store at room temperature for up to 3 weeks. After this squash is baked, the strands can be served with sauce just like pasta.
Sweet Potato: Sweet potatoes are a Native American plant that was the main source of nourishment for early homesteaders and for soldiers during the Revolutionary War. These tuberous roots are among the most nutritious foods in the vegetable kingdom. They are packed with calcium, potassium, and vitamins A and C. This is why one colonial physician called them the "vegetable indispensable." Sweet potatoes contain an enzyme that converts most of its starches into sugars as the potato matures. This sweetness continues to increase during storage and when they are cooked. Sweet potatoes will keep for up to 2 weeks in a cool, dry, dark, and well-ventilated place. But they are best used within a week of purchase. Sweet potatoes should not be refrigerated.

The peaches may be coming to the end of production. So if you want fresh peaches come to get them while we have them. If you want to a large amount, please pre-order. I pick up on Wednesday and friday. So I put my order in on Monday.
